Apartment Rental Rates Increase in this First Quarter

     In the first quarter of 2010, rental rates have increased for the first time in five consecutive quarters. Renters are staying an average of 19 months, up from an average of 14 months, according to Jeffery Friedman, chief executive of Associated Estates Realty Corporation.  The property research company Reis, saw 60 of the 79 cities they track, have rates rise. Miami, Florida showed the highest gain at 1.6 percent, as the glut of oversold property has started to sell.
