Now I Have Discovering Rome Apartments I Won?t Use a Hotel Any More

Author: admin  //  Category: cheap apartments

My wife and I had visited Rome previously, although many years ago, being just married, we didn’t have the children, so it was easy for us to check into the nearest hotel, nothing much to consider. When planning this trip, we realised quite early on that accommodation arrangements would have to be significantly different this time around.

We checked a few hotel websites, and it seemed we would have to book multiple rooms, possibly a double and a triple; this was going to be quite expensive. My wife came up with the idea of trying to find a short stay Rome apartment. I was not so sure this would be a good option be we agreed to give it a try.

We departed from London, on a Ryan Air flight to Rome, our three children were excited, the oldest especially as she had recently begun studying Italian at school. The flight was quite comfortable and certainly great value for money.

Upon landing in Rome, we asked a taxi driver to take us to our luxury Rome apartment, which was located near Piazza Navona. I was looking forward to seeing where we would be staying, as the price was a very reasonable 145 Euro per night, a significant saving over a hotel.

I have to say I was somewhat surprised by our apartment in Rome, it was far better than I had expected it to be, it had two large bedrooms, a very comfortable living room, a fully equipped and spacious kitchen and a well appointed bathroom. Had we been staying in a hotel, we would have been forced to congregate in one of our rooms, with no space to relax. Instead, by renting an apartment in Rome, we were equipped with a real home away from home, giving us space to unwind and kick back after a day’s sightseeing.

We had a great time during our visit; the highlight for me just has to be the authentic Italian food we ate every night. Two restaurants come to mind, which were of very high quality and enjoyed by the whole family. Firstly the II Matriciano, which serves amazingly tasty food and is very good value, secondly, and my particular favourite, was Taverna Trilussa, with its gourmet Italian cuisine and traditional surroundings; I really felt I was part of Italy.

Now I have tried a short term apartment rental in Rome, I will definitely think twice before booking a hotel room in the future. By staying in an apartment, we were able to enjoy our stay far more than had we been expecting, it gave us a wonderful base from which to explore this splendid city. The website we used to book our accommodation was a specialist in renting details Rome apartments you should really check them out if you are visiting the city, especially if you are a family group, and it just makes so much more sense.

Apartment 101: a Guide to Apartment Shopping

Author: admin  //  Category: apartment guide

“When looking for the perfect apartment, there are several things you will want to keep in mind. The main factors to consider when apartment hunting include:

• The cost of the apartment

• Your freedom to decorate the apartment

• The terms of the apartment lease

• The neighborhood in which the apartment is located

• The available amenities

• Transportation and parking options

• Appliance options

• Pet rules

Some of these factors may be more important to you than others. Nonetheless, you should take each of these into consideration before committing yourself to a new apartment.

The Cost of the Apartment

Of course, the rent is the most important factor you must take into consideration when shopping for an apartment. The best deals are those that include utilities as well. That way, you will only have to make one payment each month and all of your housing costs are cared for. Other factors to consider include the amount of the deposit and how much of it is refundable.

Decorating the Apartment

If you want to personalize the apartment and make it “home,” you will want to rent from a landlord that will allow you to do a bit of decorating. This may including painting the walls, hanging shelving, and making other minor changes to the appearance of the apartment. Be sure to discuss this ahead of time with the landlord if it is important to you.

The Terms of the Lease

Even if you get a great rental rate on the apartment, you don’t want to sign a lease that is going to commit you for several years. After all, if you were looking to live in one place for several years, you would like be more interested in purchasing your own real estate rather than renting an apartment. Similarly, take the time to read all of the fine print so you don’t get yourself stuck in a bind.

Considering the Neighborhood

Location is always an important consideration in the world of real estate – even if you are not looking to actually buy the property. After all, you are going to spend a great deal of time in your apartment. Therefore, you want to be certain to choose one located in a neighborhood where you feel safe and where you can enjoy yourself.

Living the Good Life with Amenities

Amenities may not be a great concern to you. But, many apartments do offer amenities that can be quite attractive. Some of these include fitness centers, pools, and more. If you are not interested in these amenities, don’t pay extra for an apartment that has them.

Getting Around

While the apartment is not likely to have its own built in transportation system, you should keep an eye out for one that is nearby to various transportation options if you do not have your own car. If you do have a car, find out about parking options available to apartment tenants.

Updating Your Appliances

In addition to considering the appliances that come with the apartment rental, you should also consider your options. For example, if the kitchen does not come with a dishwasher but you would like to have one, you want to make sure you can hook one up in the apartment.

Keeping Pets in the Apartment

Even if you are not a pet-owner, you might want to look into whether or not pets are allowed. If you are not a pet lover or if you suffer from dander-related allergies, you might want to stay clear of those apartment buildings that allow pets.

By carefully considering each of these factors, you should be able to successfully find an apartment to suit your needs while remaining within your budget.”

Busting Some Common Apartment Rental Myths

Author: admin  //  Category: find apartment

Not sure if renting an apartment is right for you? Perhaps you’ve been scared away by some of the rumours (or so-called “facts”) you’ve heard about living in an apartment building? Well, despite what you may have read or heard, apartment living is extremely desirable, safe, and efficient. This article will “bust” some of the long-standing myths about apartment living. Just be warned – the realities might surprise you.

Myth #1: Nobody would willingly choose to live in an apartment.

Many people think that the “ultimate dream” is to live in a nice house with a garage, a big backyard, and the proverbial white picket fence. But is it really? Research conducted by the U.S.-based National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) shows that apartment living is steadily gaining in popularity – and that a surprising 40 percent of people living in an apartment do so by choice (and not because of their financial situation).

So, why would people choose to live in an apartment, even if they can afford a home? It’s quite simple, actually. Among other reasons, apartment complexes usually offer superior locations that are closer to workplaces and popular shopping centres, renters appreciate the lack of maintenance and repair responsibilities, and the freedom to pack up your things and move to a new location on a regular basis (as opposed to being tied down to a lengthy mortgage) cannot be overlooked.

Myth #2: Apartment buildings have high crime rates.

Many people think of apartments as havens for “undesirable” segments of the population and that these buildings are rife with drugs and crime. However, in reality, apartments actually help create safe and secure neighborhoods.

Much of the belief that crime is higher in apartment complexes is based on the faulty logic in believing that one apartment building is the same as a single “house”. If you compare the two this way, then yes, chances are there is more crime in an apartment than an ordinary household. But if you think of an apartment as dozens or hundreds of separate “houses”, you’ll find that the crime rates are no higher than they are in any other type of dwelling.

Furthermore, many apartment residents say they choose apartment living specifically because they feel more secure! With 24-hour security systems, “Lobby Watch” video cameras that can be monitored on your own television, intercom packages, and onsite superintendents, modern apartments are extremely safe. And with so many people coming and going, it is actually more difficult for criminals to act without being discovered.

Myth #3: Apartments contribute to a neighbourhood’s traffic congestion.

While there’s no denying that a single apartment building can be home to hundreds of people, it simply isn’t true that apartments generate more traffic congestion than other types of dwelling or neighbourhoods.

As a large amount of apartment residents are young professionals, students, and seniors (as opposed to large families), they average only one vehicle per family/household, as they are more likely to use public transportation to get around town. As well, people who rent apartments generate 30 to 40 percent fewer vehicle trips than the average single-family home.

Myth #4: Apartments increase local infrastructure costs.

While some people believe that apartment buildings put an increased burden on the community as a result of a local infrastructure costs, the clustering of apartments makes them substantially less expensive to service. It actually costs less, on a per-household basis, to provide public services to apartments, as they require few kilometres roads, sewers, and water lines.

If more people lived in apartments, instead of buying up new single-family developments (which require public services and utilities to be spread over a larger geographic area), more funds and resources could be used to support other areas of the community.

Remember, don’t let the myths fool you – when it comes to great locations, affordability, security, and minimal impact on local infrastructure and resources, renting an apartment is always an excellent choice.

Bangkok Apartments Rental Gearing Up For Bts Extension

New apartment buildings and condos are mushrooming in preparation for new BTS stations

The next BTS extension expected to open is the Bang Na Extension along Sukhumvit road. This extension is due to open in 2011, and even now that the project is incomplete, Bangkok is seeing an increasing number of apartments and condominiums along the BTS strip.

Ever since the BTS began its services 10 years ago, apartments and condos have increased along the route because of the convenience in transportation. Now, a full year before the extended line is expected to be up and running, new apartment buildings are already spotted, especially around stations after On Nut, bringing even more residents to Sukhumvit road – the already crowded residential area of Bangkok.

Crossing over the Chao Phraya River to the Thonburi side of Bangkok is the Wong Wian Yai station, bringing convenience to the people on the other side of Bangkok, who could now have a way to finally skip the massive traffic jams on the Taksin Bridge. It now takes just 11 minutes from Wong Wian Yai to Silom via the BTS for a distance of about 4 kilometers, compared to up to 90 minutes by direct bus at peak times.

New apartment rentals are gaining popularity even before the stations are open because most people expect the prices to go up after the train is in service. It is a common line in most real estate advertisements that the property is xx meters away from BTS station, and that is definitely the best selling point. Most condominium buildings on this strip are sold out within days after the launch, while apartment buildings do not stay vacant very long in this area.
